- Speed is how fast you can go in a certain distance.
How does it apply to NASCAR?
- All cars go at a different speed, and it is important to try to have the fastest speed.
- Speed = Distance/Time
- This formula tells you that speed equals the distance you traveled divided by the amount of time it took.
Example:
- Jimmie Johnson is driving on the racetrack. He manages to go 500 feet in 5 seconds.
- To find his speed, I divide 500 (distance) by 5 (Time) and I get 100. So, Jimmie is traveling at 100 feet per second.

Tips for the Team
- Hold the pedal down as much as possible to make your speed faster than the others.
- The faster you speed is, the faster you will complete the race!
